Credit Sesame

$5.5M+ Cumulative organic traffic value
Top 5 Ranking for 'free credit score'
vs Experian, Equifax, TransUnion Outranked the three credit bureaus + major banks

A Silicon Valley FinTech startup needed to compete in one of the most competitive verticals on the open web. The category-killer queries were locked up by Experian, Equifax, TransUnion, and the major banks. Credit Sesame had brand recognition but the SEO program was producing reports without rankings.

A 22-month engagement that rebuilt the technical foundation, scaled comparison and education content against the top-of-funnel queries, and built authority through digital PR and primary-source linkable content. We treated the credit-bureau competitors as the actual benchmark instead of pretending they didn't exist.

What shipped
  • Technical SEO at scale across product and content templates
  • Content architecture targeting buyer-journey queries
  • Authority-building tied to financial-press placements
  • Conversion tracking aligned to product signups, not vanity rankings

Legal directory · Thomson Reuters portfolio · 14 months

FindLaw (Thomson Reuters)

$49.5M Cumulative organic traffic value
Millions Of pages indexed via custom sitemap system
+43% Monthly traffic value lift across engagement

FindLaw is a Thomson Reuters legal directory with millions of pages spanning attorney listings, legal content, and practice-area resources. Indexation at that scale doesn't happen by default. Most pages were uncrawled, schema was inconsistent across templates, and Penguin and Panda updates were eroding the rankings that did exist.

Senior SEO Analyst engagement covering a 14-month window that rebuilt the sitemap implementation, recovered indexation across millions of pages, and navigated the Penguin and Panda updates without losing the engagement's core ranking footprint.

What shipped
  • Custom sitemap system for indexation at scale
  • Penguin and Panda mitigation playbooks
  • Template-level schema rebuild
  • Internal-link distribution across millions of URLs

Fraud-prevention SaaS · acquired by TransUnion · 34 months

iovation

2.8× Keyword growth across engagement
$512K Cumulative organic traffic value
B2B SaaS Buyer-intent and category-defining content

iovation was an enterprise SaaS in fraud prevention and device intelligence preparing for a new site launch. They needed an architecture that could compete on the high-value B2B buyer queries from day one and a content strategy for the fraud-prevention space. Most agencies treat enterprise SaaS like consumer SEO. The playbook had to be different.

A 34-month consulting engagement that shaped the site architecture for the new launch, built the keyword strategy around the actual buyer motion, and produced category-defining content tied to the fraud-prevention space. Long-haul SEO consultation that moved keyword count 2.8× and produced over half a million in cumulative organic value.

What shipped
  • Site architecture consultation for a new B2B SaaS launch
  • Buyer-intent keyword strategy tied to demo and trial flows
  • Category-defining content strategy across 34 months
  • Authority-building specific to enterprise B2B buyer signals

13M Monthly visitors
15 Sites in the network

A 15-site digital media network spanning Christianity.com, Crosswalk, BibleStudyTools, GodTube, LightSource, and other content properties. SEO at this scale is a different discipline: crawl budget across hundreds of thousands of URLs per site, schema across template types, internal-link economy across cross-property authority distribution.

SEO and social strategy across the network. Coordinated technical SEO so each property compounded against the others, indexation control on URLs that needed to rank vs URLs that didn't, and authority distribution from the network's strongest properties to the emerging ones.

What shipped
  • Technical SEO across 15 sites in a network
  • Cross-property authority and internal-link strategy
  • Indexation control at scale
  • Editorial-SEO coordination across the property portfolio

Publicly traded telehealth · Craft CMS · 7 months

LifeMD

100× Keyword growth
1 root cause Diagnosed and fixed Craft CMS rendering bug
Indexed Recovered content Google had been blocked from

LifeMD is a publicly traded telehealth company. The SEO program was producing nothing despite real content investment. The diagnosis: a Craft CMS rendering issue was returning content that Googlebot couldn't fully index. Most agencies would have tried to compensate with more content. The root cause was the rendering layer.

A 7-month technical consulting engagement that diagnosed the rendering bug, worked with the engineering team to fix the underlying CMS issue, and recovered indexation across the previously-blocked content. The result was 100× keyword growth driven by one technical fix that nobody else had identified.

What shipped
  • JS-rendering audit on a Craft CMS implementation
  • Engineering coordination to ship the fix
  • Indexation recovery monitoring across template types
  • Schema and canonical work to compound the recovered crawl

The senior-led model

Why this model produces these outcomes.

Most big enterprise SEO agencies sell you to a senior strategist on a sales call, then hand the actual work to a junior account manager you didn't meet. The strategist signs off on a quarterly report. The junior runs the day-to-day. That model produces decks, not outcomes.

Savo Group is built differently because it has to be. Michael runs accounts directly. So does Taylor. The person you meet on the call is the person who runs the work, every week, from kickoff to renewal. There's no account manager between you and the strategist. There's no third party your dev team has to coordinate with to ship a fix.

Enterprise SEO problems are usually technical, sometimes strategic. Diagnosing a Craft CMS rendering issue (the work at LifeMD), building a sitemap system to index millions of pages (the work at FindLaw), structuring authority across a 15-site network (the work at Salem), or shaping site architecture and content strategy for a new B2B SaaS launch (the work at iovation). Each one calls for a senior practitioner who can audit, diagnose, and ship. That's the model. That's why these outcomes happen.

Migrations are where most enterprise SEO programs lose

Four migration types, four risk profiles, four playbooks.

The riskiest moment in an enterprise SEO program is a migration. Each type has its own failure mode. Naming the risk is half the work.

01

Replatforming

CMS or commerce platform change (Shopify to Shopify Plus, WordPress to Astro, etc.)

The risk

Most common cause of post-launch ranking loss. Stock migration tools handle the obvious URLs and silently 404 the long tail.

Our approach

Pre-migration crawl baseline. URL-by-URL redirect map validated in staging against the actual sitemap. Schema, canonical, and internal-link preservation across templates. 60 days of 404-log review post-launch.

02

Domain consolidation / post-acquisition

Two or more domains merging into one after a merger, acquisition, or brand consolidation

The risk

Authority signals get lost across the merge. Inbound links to the old domain need redirect chains preserved. Brand-term rankings can split or duplicate temporarily.

Our approach

Inventory of inbound links to each merging domain. 301 mapping that preserves link equity. Search Console change-of-address. Disavow file consolidation. Brand-term monitoring to catch ranking splits early.

03

International rollout

Adding hreflang, ccTLDs, subdomains, or subfolders for new market regions

The risk

Hreflang implementations rarely validate cleanly out of the gate. Wrong locale codes, missing return tags, and conflicts with canonical tags are the most common failures we audit.

Our approach

ccTLD vs subdomain vs subfolder strategy based on team capacity, not dogma. Hreflang validation across all locale pairs. Per-region content review (not synonym-swap translations). Per-market authority strategy.

04

URL restructure / taxonomy change

Information architecture change — new category structure, taxonomy redesign, URL pattern updates

The risk

Even with redirects in place, restructure changes how Google evaluates topical authority across the site. Internal-link distribution shifts. Pages that previously ranked can lose their position in the new taxonomy.

Our approach

Pre-restructure ranking inventory. Internal-link mapping to ensure authority distribution survives the change. Phased rollout when possible. Search Console monitoring for anomalies in the first 90 days.
