We moved a Florida tax firm off WordPress and built the local SEO to match.
Innovative Tax Relief is a West Palm Beach tax resolution firm with Enrolled Agents, CPAs, and tax attorneys on staff, licensed in all 50 states and founded in 2016. They were running on a slow WordPress site that wasn't showing up in the Florida markets they actually wanted to win. We rebuilt it as a hand-coded, bilingual Astro site, migrated every ranking URL off the old WordPress without dropping the equity, and stood up a Florida-first local SEO program with a service-area page for every major metro in the state.
The Challenge
Innovative Tax Relief is not a small firm. Founded in West Palm Beach in 2016, it has grown about 45% a year, resolved more than 3,000 client cases, and worked on roughly $100 million in IRS tax debt for people across the country. Enrolled Agents, CPAs, and tax attorneys handle the casework. By any measure that matters, they earned their reputation.
The website didn't reflect any of that. It was a WordPress build on shared hosting: slow to load, awkward on a phone, and stuffed with the kind of generic agency copy that could have belonged to any tax relief company in the country. Worse, it wasn't ranking for the searches that bring in cases. Someone in Tampa or Orlando typing "tax relief near me" or "IRS wage garnishment help" was finding national lead-resellers, not the firm headquartered two hours down I-95.
There was a catch that makes a rebuild risky. The old WordPress site had years of indexed pages, and some of them ranked and pulled real traffic. Rip the site out without a plan and you torch that equity overnight. So this was two jobs at once: build something far better, and carry every ounce of ranking value across to it.
From WordPress on shared hosting to hand-coded Astro.
No theme, no page builder, no plugin stack to keep patched. We rebuilt the whole site by hand on Astro and Tailwind and served it from Cloudflare's edge, so pages load fast everywhere a Florida taxpayer happens to be searching. The full build is bilingual, English and Spanish, because a real chunk of the audience reads in Spanish and the old site ignored them.
Custom Website Design
A clean, trustworthy site for a subject most people are anxious about. The homepage leads with a short qualifying form (how much do you owe?) so a worried visitor can start without reading a wall of text first. Every claim on the site is one the firm can stand behind: licensed professionals on staff, fees based on the work and the complexity of the case, and a free confidential consultation. No fake countdown timers, no invented savings numbers.
We wrote the copy from a verified facts sheet the founder signed off on, so the marketing and the legal reality line up on every page.
A Page for Every Service
The firm handles nine IRS programs, and most tax sites bury them in one long list. We gave each its own page, each targeting its own keyword cluster:
A Resources Library That Earns Its Traffic
People research tax problems before they ever call. So we built a resources hub answering the questions they actually type: can the IRS take your house, can you get a passport if you owe taxes, does bankruptcy clear tax debt. Several of these were rebuilt directly from old WordPress URLs that already had organic traffic, so we kept the visitors and gave them a far better page to land on. There's also an about page and a reviews page pulling from 320+ verified Google reviews.
Lead Pipeline + Visitor Tracking
The whole point of the site is the free consultation request. Every form posts straight into the firm's CRM and mirrors into our Persilio dashboard at the same time, so each lead is tied to the visitor's full journey: the search that brought them in, the pages they read, and the campaign that earned the click.
We gated the forms with Cloudflare Turnstile after bots started filling them. The verification is invisible to real people and only shows up on the final step, so it stops the junk without adding a single click of friction for an actual prospect.
Licensed in 50 states. Winning in Florida first.
The firm can take a case anywhere in the country, but the home base and the growth opportunity are both in Florida. National tax-relief keywords are a money pit dominated by lead brokers with eight-figure ad budgets. Local searches are a different game. A person in Cape Coral searching for tax help wants someone who feels like theirs, and almost nobody is doing real local SEO for tax resolution. That's the opening.
Service-area pages for every major Florida metro
We built a dedicated page for each Florida market the firm wants, from the Panhandle to South Florida. Every one is its own page with unique copy, written for that metro's intent (the searches, the local IRS pain points, the cities and counties around it), not a template with the city name swapped in. That's the difference between pages Google ranks and pages Google ignores.
They all link back to the Florida hub and into the relevant service pages, so the whole state forms one tight internal-linking cluster pointing at the consultation request:
- - West Palm Beach (HQ)
- - Miami
- - Tampa
- - Orlando
- - Jacksonville
- - Fort Lauderdale
- - St. Petersburg
- - Hialeah
- - Cape Coral
- - Port St. Lucie
- - Tallahassee
- - Sarasota
- - Gainesville
- - Pensacola
Florida City Pages
Every major metro, each unique copy targeting local intent
Languages
Full bilingual build with hreflang wired correctly
Schema Coverage
LocalBusiness, Service, FAQ, and Breadcrumb structured data
What the SEO program is doing
- 1. Florida city pages built to rank locally. Unique copy per metro, internally linked into the service pages and the state hub.
- 2. Google Business Profile and citations. Consistent name, address, and phone across the directories that feed the Map Pack.
- 3. A resources library that captures research-stage searches and funnels them into the service and city pages.
- 4. End-to-end tracking. Every lead carries its source, search term, and page path into the dashboard, so we can see which Florida markets and keywords actually turn into consultations.
Separate landing pages for the paid traffic.
SEO traffic and paid traffic want different things, so we built them different pages. The organic site is broad and educational. The paid-search side runs on dedicated, single-purpose landing pages built to convert one click into one consultation request: a Fresh Start funnel, a wage-garnishment funnel, and a straight consultation funnel, each stripped down to the offer and the form.
Those landing pages live on their own closed-funnel subdomain and are kept out of the search index on purpose, so they never compete with the organic pages for rankings or split the firm's own keywords. The ad budget points at the funnels. Google's crawler points at the content. They stay out of each other's way.
The Migration & Technical Edge
WordPress to Astro, equity intact
We mapped roughly 75 indexed legacy URLs from Search Console to their best new page and 301-redirected each one, so years of ranking equity carried over to the new site instead of dying on launch day.
Built with Astro
Static-first framework that ships almost no JavaScript. Pages load in under a second, which matters when someone's researching a tax problem from their phone at 11pm.
Cloudflare Workers Edge
Served from Cloudflare's global edge with the redirect map, host routing, and lead API all handled in one Worker. Fast in Miami, fast in Pensacola, fast everywhere in between.
Bilingual EN/ES
The full site exists in English and Spanish with hreflang wired so Google serves the right version, in the brand's plain-talk register instead of stiff formal Spanish.
Schema on Every Page
LocalBusiness, Service, FAQPage, and BreadcrumbList structured data so Google understands the firm, the programs offered, and the Florida cities served.
Leads + Spam Defense
Forms post to the CRM and mirror into the Persilio dashboard with full attribution, behind a Cloudflare Turnstile gate that stops bot submissions without slowing real people down.
The firm had already done the hard part: ten years of real casework, thousands of resolved cases, and a team of licensed professionals who do this every day. The website was the part holding them back.
Now it's a fast, bilingual, hand-coded site with a Florida local SEO program built underneath it, engineered to put Innovative Tax Relief in front of the Florida taxpayer who's searching for help and currently finding a national lead broker instead.
