A custom website for San Francisco's most particular dog walkers.
Sniff and Go is a private, on-leash, 1:1 dog walking and training company in SF, founded by a CPDT-KA certified trainer in 2009. Their service is genuinely premium, but their old website looked like every other dog walker in the city. We rebuilt the entire site from scratch on a hand-coded technical foundation, then launched a 17-neighborhood local SEO program built to rank in every part of San Francisco they serve.
The Challenge
Sniff and Go is a genuinely premium service in a category full of cheap, mass-market group walkers. The founder, Emi, is a CPDT-KA certified professional dog trainer. Walks are private and 1:1, never group. Dogs are always on-leash. Every staff member completes 40+ hours of training before a first solo walk. Pricing reflects that level of care, with monthly memberships running $695 to $1,725.
None of that came through online. The old website looked like a generic dog walking template. The copy didn't capture what made the service different, didn't convert visitors into clients, and didn't position the business for SF dog parents who specifically want a private, certified, force-free trainer for their dog. The team was, in their own words, embarrassed to send people to it.
On the SEO side, Sniff and Go covers 17 distinct San Francisco neighborhoods, from Castro and Noe Valley to Marina, Pacific Heights, Mission, and Cow Hollow. Each one is its own search market. A site that ranks in Castro doesn't automatically rank in Pacific Heights. They needed both: a website that finally matched the quality of the service, and a local SEO foundation built to win neighborhood by neighborhood across SF.
A new website that looks as careful as the service.
We started over on the website. New site architecture, new copy, new layouts, all built around the BetteR+ membership service and the certified, force-free training that sets Sniff and Go apart from group walkers. Built from scratch on Astro and Tailwind, deployed at the Cloudflare edge, and tuned for the kind of SF dog parent who reads a service page before they make a phone call.
Custom Website Design
No template themes, no page builders. Every page is hand-built and tuned to the service: warm, deliberate, and focused on the credentials and care that justify a premium price. Real photography of the actual team and dogs, not stock images. Click-to-call front and center on mobile, and a clear path from hero to "request walk" on every page.
The site explains BetteR+ Dog Walks (private 1:1 on-leash), BetteR+ with Training, and Dog Day Training in the kind of plain language a busy SF homeowner can scan in 15 seconds. Pricing is right there. Service area, M-F hours, 17 neighborhood coverage area, all visible without hunting.
Service Pages That Actually Sell
Three dedicated service pages built around how SF dog parents actually search and buy:
Each page leads with the differentiators that matter to a discerning dog parent: CPDT-KA certified founder, 40+ hours staff training, 100% positive reinforcement, private and on-leash always, GPS tracking, daily journals, insured and bonded, Pet First Aid and CPR certified.
20 San Francisco Neighborhood Pages
The foundation of the local SEO program. Each neighborhood page targets the searches dog parents in that specific part of SF actually run, with original copy about routes, parks, and the practical reality of walking a dog in that area.

GoHighLevel CRM Integration
Sniff and Go runs scheduling, billing, and client communication through GoHighLevel. We rebuilt the new client application form and the employment application as custom on-brand pages on the new site, posting cleanly into the existing GHL pipeline. Marketing source attribution (UTM parameters, gclid, fbclid, landing page) is captured on every form submission so they can finally see which neighborhoods, search terms, and campaigns produce paying clients.
Built for Google. SEO is live as of May 2026.
The website launch is also the SEO launch. The new site is the foundation: 20 neighborhood pages, structured service pages, schema markup on every page, internal links wired correctly, and Core Web Vitals dialed in. Rankings take months to compound, but everything Google needs to start indexing and ranking Sniff and Go neighborhood by neighborhood is now in place.

What the SEO program is doing right now
- 1. Google Business Profile optimization. Categories, services, photos, posts, and a review generation system tied to the GHL post-walk follow-up.
- 2. Citation building across SF directories. Yelp, Nextdoor, Rover alternatives, and SF-specific pet directories with consistent NAP data.
- 3. Neighborhood page indexing and tracking. All 20 pages submitted, indexed, and tracked in Semrush with neighborhood-level rank tracking.
- 4. Conversion tracking end-to-end. Every form submission carries the source, neighborhood, and search term it came from into GHL, so we can see which SEO investments produce real members.
The Technical Edge
Built with Astro
Static-first framework that ships zero JavaScript by default. Pages load in under a second on any connection, including SF's spotty 4G in the hills.
Cloudflare Edge
Served from Cloudflare's global edge network. The site is as fast in SF as it is anywhere else, and there's no server to manage or pay for.
Schema on Every Page
LocalBusiness, Service, FAQPage, and BreadcrumbList structured data so Google understands the business, services, neighborhoods, and FAQs without guessing.
GHL Form Integration
Custom new-client and employment applications post directly into GoHighLevel with full marketing attribution, so every lead arrives with its source already tagged.
Privacy & Compliance
As a California business, the site ships with a CCPA-aligned privacy policy, transparent data collection, and analytics configured without cross-context behavioral sharing.
Old-URL Redirects
301 redirects from the old WordPress URLs to the new site so existing rankings, backlinks, and bookmarked pages all carry forward into the new structure.
Sniff and Go has spent 15+ years building a service that SF dog parents trust with their dogs, their keys, and their homes. The old website didn't reflect any of that.
The new site does. And the local SEO program built underneath it is engineered to put Sniff and Go in front of SF dog parents in 17 neighborhoods, every time they search. We're at the start of that, with a foundation already in place that most established competitors don't have.
